IU 12 Regional Computer Fairs

Middle School Computer Fair 2011
27 students from the IU12 region competed in five different categories this year for the regional middle school computer fair. During the judging of their projects, students participated in two learning sessions: Alice with Jaron Flickinger, Northeastern School District and Sumopaint with high school students from Central York School District. Judges were volunteers from area school districts (technology integrators/teachers) and the Lincoln Intermediate Unit (tech department). Winners were from four of the categories:

  • Digital Movie: Caeley Etter, Gwendalyn Clark – Chambersburg 

  • Graphic Design: Charlie Dolan – South Western

  • Multimedia: Leah Keller, Emma Kostoff, Ellen Grace Polites – Central York

  • Web Page Design: Hannah Keeports – Central York

 

High School Computer Fair 2011
65 students from the IU12 region competed in nine different categories this year for the regional high school computer fair. During the judging of their projects, students participated in three learning sessions: New Worlds with CCIU and Ann Johnston; Creating Video Games with Dr. Charles Palmer from Harrisburg University, ands a Gaming Tournament organized by Jonathan Johnston (Harrisburg University student). Judges were volunteers from area school districts (technology integrators/teachers), Dellicker Strategies, and the Lincoln Intermediate Unit (tech department). Winners include:

  •  Animation: Mark Spicer - Northeastern

  • Computer Fair Logo: Kiersten Levens, Central York

  • Curriculum-Based Web Page: Lindsy Shuff, Cody Spangler – Spring Grove

  • Digital Movie: Jesus Rosario – Central York

  • Graphic Design: Kendall Cuthie – Southern York

  • Information-Based Web Page: Mark Spicer - Northeastern

  • Multimedia: Cory Reinoehl - Northeastern

  • Text-based Desktop Publishing: Nicole Rosengrant, Christopher Emswiler, Hai Ngo - Central York

  • Programming: Joshua Pavoncello - Northeastern

MS Computer Fair 2010

19 students from the IU12 region competed in four different categories this year for the regional middle school computer fair. During the judging of their projects, they participated in three sessions:

HS Computer Fair 2010

This year's computer fair was earlier than ever due to PSSA changes, but we had another successful year!

41 students from the IU12 region competed in eight different categories. During the judging of their projects, they participated in three sessions:
  • Keystone Commons with Vicki Barr (Eastern York SD)
  • Explore Your Future with Susan Knoble (Life Science Career Alliance)
  • Gaming Tournament organized by Jonathon Johnston (Harrisburg University student)
Judges were volunteers from area school districts (technology integrators), Harrisburg University, Dellicker Strategies, and some members of the Lincoln Intermediate Unit (tech department).
